Keeping in mind the current Covid situation, World, National and State Selection Chess tournaments are going to organise ONLINE.

Online State Selection tournaments will be held from 4 to 9 June, 2021. First time in the history of Chess FIDE organises World Tournament, All India Chess Federation organises National tournament and Gujarat State Chess Association organises State selection tournament ONLINE due to current pandemic Covid situation. Online age group (U-10, U-12, U-14, U-16 and U18) (Open and Girls) Chess Championship will be held from 4 to 9 June, 2021 through online TORNELO platform. The said tournament will be held under the rules and regulations of FIDE (World Chess Federation) U-18 and U-12 tournament will be held on 4 and 5 June, 2021 whereas U-16 and U-10 will be on 6 and 7 June, 2021 and U-14 will be held on 8 and 9 June, 2021 at 10 a.m. SHARP. Interested players have to registered themselves through online registration link which is already given in detailed brochure and available on www.gsca.in website. Players has to pay online entry fees. More than 200 players have already registered for the said tournament. Each participants will be awarded downloadable certificate. Selected two players from each category (Open & Girls) will represent online National tournament and represent Gujarat State. Mr. Anandh Babu is appointed as Chief Arbiter of the above mentioned tournament.

Outstanding performance by Gujarat players in All India Chess Federation Online National U-9 School Chess Championship

Outstanding performance by Gujarat players in All India Chess Federation Online National U-9 School Chess Championship and qualify forWorld Chess Championship During current pandemic of Covid-19, All India Chess Federation organised online National Chess Championship of all the category tournament through Tornelo platform under FIDE rules and regulations. In these tournaments Gujarat's talented Chess players showed enormous performance which puts them in top 10 players. With 7.5 points in AICF National School U-9 (Girls) Online Chess Championship Hanya Shah showed outstanding performance which puts her on third position whereas with 7.5 points Reya Banker stood on 4th position. While AICF National School U-9 (Open) Online Chess Championship category with 7.5 points Aarav Arpit Shah stood on 8th and with 7.5 points Kian Dishank Shah stood on 10th position respectively. All the above players confirmed their position in top 10 by their outstanding performance and qualify for Online World Chess Championship which will be held in coming month. Gujarat State Chess Association's President Emeritus Mr. Ajay Patel and President Mr. Rakesh Shah heartily congratulate all these winners.
